Only on and after the 1 July date that New Zealand's emission trading scheme (ETS) came into force have our two mainstream metro newspapers deigned to print the comments of Federated Farmers president Don Nicolson about the adverse effect the ETS will have on the finances and international competitiveness of our farmers.
